Bechir Saade is a multi-instrumentalist musician active on mainstream
as well as free improvisation music scenes. Since 1996, he has played
and performed in numerous festivals, projects and venues with
different musicians from jazz, to traditional Middle Eastern music.
Today, Saade is completely dedicated to free improvised music. He
regularly participates in the Irtijal festival in Lebanon (the annual
free improvised music festival) and numerous other festivals and
events throughout the year in Europe and especially in London where he
is currently based. He founded with six other Lebanese musicians the
first Lebanese ensemble of experimental music "Al Moukhtabar" that
plays improvised as well as composed music. Saade is also interested
in the musical heritage found in traditional Middle Eastern techniques
of improvisation through the rich sound techniques of the nay.
